Cancellations & Refunds Policy

SaaS Subscriptions

Our SaaS Subscriptions are automated with recurring billing - with well defined billing frequencies and cycles. You can manage your entire subscription lifecycle from the clients portal and/or control panel provided to you. 

At anytime, you can modify your SaaS Subscriptions: Cancel, Upgrade, Downgrade, Add or Remove Features, Extras or Add-ons. Your bills will be automatically prorated as per your plan and usage. 


All of our subscriptions come with a limited period trials - You may choose the trials or you can skip the trials and commence your subscriptions straight away. At the end of the trial, you will be automatically enrolled into the plan you had chosen at the beginning of the trial. However, you can cancel the trial or upgrade at any time during the trial. You will not incur any charges if you cancel your trial before it ends. 

Subscription Metrics

All our Subscriptions are billed based on the cumulative usage (CPU Hours, etc). Additional charges may be added to your base plan based on your plan for exceeding limits on resources assigned to the base plan (e.g. Data Transfer, Disk Space, etc). 

Multiple Subscriptions

From your client portal or control portal, you can manage all your subscriptions to multiple products or services. You will be sent a single consolidated invoice with adjusted credits and rates. 


You can pay for your recurring bills of subscriptions using a range of payment methods including credit card, Bank Transfer (NEFT/RTGS), UPI, Online Banking as well as offline methods such as cheques and demand drafts. Please be advised that we do NOT accept cash payments  - However, you can pay in cash at our Banks using pay-in slips. 

Goods and Products

This Refunds and Returns Policy applies only to GOODS and Physical Products sold on Academe Research Website or Platform. This policy does not apply to Consultancy or Digital Services and Goods.

Return of Goods

Our returns policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Additional non-returnable items:
  • Gift cards
  • Downloadable software products
  • Some health and personal care items

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Please do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable)

  • Book with obvious signs of use
  • CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened.
  • Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
  • Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery

Refunds for Returned Goods

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 5 to 7 days. 

It might take 5 to 7 days for the refunds to appear in your payment method or bank.

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale items (if applicable)

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (if applicable)

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged.  If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at and send your item to: 107, Montorsier Street, Pondicherry 605001.


If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and he will find out about your return.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

If you are shipping an item over Rs. 500, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

Cancellation Charges

Subscription charges are not refunded or prorated if your SaaS application is terminated or modified before your subscription period ends.

Your subscription period begins on the date your order is provisioned. Your subscription will be invoiced monthly or annually depending upon the SaaS service and billing plan you choose when ordering. Unless you cancel or request that your subscription not be renewed at least 5 days prior to your renewal, you will be charged for the subscription on your next invoice.

Discounted Annual Plans

If you are billed annually and want to cancel service sometime in the middle of your renewal cycle, service charges will not be prorated or refunded except when there is a change in Plan (downgrading or upgrading). - Note: This does not apply to subscriptions with Monthly billing charges based on usage. 

For all Annual Plans, You must process a cancellation request through the Support Portal, or notify Academe Research of your intent to cancel or request to not renew your services, at least 5 business days prior to the end of your then-current subscription period. If you fail to provide proper notice, Academe Research will charge you for the next subscription period.

Refunds for Digital Services, Goods and Products

Given the nature of digital (non-physical) goods, products and content, we do not offer a refund or credit on a purchase unless required under existing consumer law or other relevant consumer protection laws; or is part of the application, product or service's separate refunds policy.

We will assess refund or credit requests on case to case basis and on individual merits of each case, while there is generally no obligation to provide a refund or credit in situations like the following:

  • You don't want it after you've downloaded it
  • The item did not meet your expectations or you feel the item is of low quality
  • You simply change your mind
  • You bought an item by mistake
  • You do not have sufficient expertise to use the item
  • You claim that you are entitled to a refund but do not provide sufficient information as to why you are entitled to a refund
